I was originally planning on dropping the final teaser for 'Apocalypse Now' today but in all honesty I don't have the time.

Thanks to Operation Darkness and Cthulhu Saves the World I've been too busy to do anything combo video related and today will be a bust too (more Cthulhu is the only thing I have planned lol).

I'm also heading to New York in the New Year so it'll be a minute before a video goes up.

I'll make it up to the people waiting tho when I get back.

Ready to Rumble!!

It's the one year anniversary of my Xbox360. I have now been a Xbox360 owner for a whole year.

During this time, I laughed and laughed some more as I played Breath of Death VII: The Beginning, conquered Puzzle Quest, smashed Puzzle Chronicles, ran amuck in 'Splosion Man, did my duty as the protector of Gotham in Batman: Arkham Asylum and played numerous on numerous games of Tekken 6 online (hence my Xbox Live Sessions series). Oh and sold my soul to Ninja Gaiden II. All this and so much more.

I must admit I have never had this must fun with a console ever and I really need to thank my wife for getting it for me.

However with this Christmas, I now have the means to actually expand my library of games thanks to some well thought of presents. I must admit, my library of physical games is pretty small. I have Tekken 6, Gears of War (which I have bearly played) and Dead Rising (which I haven't even touched LOL). I do have a decent number of arcade games on my hard-drive tho and some indie games. But as I said before, my Xbox is going to get a sharp infusion of new games very soon. Here is a preview of what's to come.

Left 4 Dead: I have heard sooo much about this game and whilst I am not a big fan of the first person shooter, it has zombies and it's horror fueled so count me in. I might even do a dual run of this with Dead Rising.

Operation Darkness: A pretty obscure rpg from Atlus, I've been playing the demo and even through I am getting pwned ALL the time I don't mind it. I love my strategy RPG's tho (Hello Shining Force series) so this with the supernatural take on the WW II genre is something that caught my eye. It doesn't hurt it is dirt cheap too LOL.

Battle Fantasia: Now I got a new proper working stick (thanks wifey!), I definitely want to get some more fighting games on my Xbox other then Tekken. Battle Fantasia is another un-heard of game but it's got some decent reviews from people who actually played it and it's fantasy which is up my alley. It's also made by the BlazBlue guys/gals so hopefully it'll have some depth and a decent combo system.

Limbo: I played the demo way back in Summer and now it's going on sale I will actually pick it up. I really like the atmosphere of the game and it's very unique. I think I'll enjoy myself with this one.

Cthulu Saves the World: OMG! Out of all the games on my list, this is the one I want the most and have waited for the longest to play. Made by the same studio behind another indie game gem Breath of Death, CStW is going to be epic. I am so ready to play it. I might even do a walk-through once I get my capture software.

Costume Upgrade for Ninja Gaiden II: I know it's not a game BUT I'm going to happy rocking new clothes as I do my solo weapon runs for the Flails, Talons and Tonfas.

Thanks to everyone that made it happen. I'm ready to rumble for sure!

P.S. I should finished 'Splosion Man or Portal: Still Alive now. LOL I was purposely playing them slowly to really enjoy them and keep me going till I got new stuff but since I got a bus load of new stuff I don't want these gems to be left unplayed *cough* Dead Rising.

P.S.S. I'm aiming for an new Apocalypse Now clip to go up exclusively on this blog before New Years Day. Tho if I get my new games early... I don't know if it'll be so doable.

Rants/ Raves Reborn

So as most people know, my other blog Rants and Raves has fallen by wayside. I just haven't had much to blog about lately and even one thing I used to blog about all the time (my music player for the month) stopped happening too. I have decided to dedicate my time instead to this blog 'Apocryphic Videos'. I've been pretty faithful with keeping this blog up to date so this can be considered my main blog from now on.

However tonight, Rants and Raves is reborn thanks to an atrocious night of online T6. Now Online T6 is a joke, I know. Hop kicks become unpunishable and low sweep moves become god-like due to lag. However it's a time killer and a guilty pleasure of mine.
Tonight through, I don't know if I'll keep playing if this trend continues. In my hot little room, I had to sit through and deny so many 2-1 bar matches to luckily get a 3-4 bar match. However each match I played was against some random scrub who really could not play for beans. Random moves, throws for no reason other then they are losing and getting desperate. It was driving me insane. On top of that, not one of these people had ranks close to mine... not even remotely. Sure it's my fault for having such high ranking characters BUT I have at least 7 online mains and not one of them got a 1/4 point tonight. To top this off, I had a scrub send me hatemail and match requests because he beat my Mokujin once. This scrub felt self important enough to insult me and then send me a friend request. I hate scrubs with a passion reserved for Sarah Palin and her supporters and to top it off this guy was drunk and not making sense at all. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. As I said, if I have night similar to this one, ApocryphicV on XBL will be no more. I'll rather play 'Splosion Man, Harms Way or Portal: Still Alive instead honestly.

Oh Raves: LOL I'm hella consistant with my videos lately so yah for me!
'The Walking Dead' was an incredible series. There were a couple quiet episodes but overall it was probably my favorite new show of 2010, hands down.

Also be on the look out for a new change on this blog. If you see EXCLUSIVE (yep all caps) it means the content is exclusive (duh!) to this blog and won't be seen anywhere else. So yeah be on the look out for that because if you are only following me on UTube you are only getting half of my visions :D

Helping Hand: Anna's Trending Water to Hunting Swan

What?! Helping Hand is back?! LOL Yes. Much asked for, much promised here is the latest installment of Helping Hand!

Anna's Just Frame was giving me some headaches for a bit but once I figured out the exact animation to get it, it became easy as pie.

I'm been on a roll lately with vids and now Helping Hand is out I'm going to take a holiday break.

Helping Hand will be back in the new year tho with Hei's Omen Thunder Godfist tutorial.

EXCLUSIVE: White Light

So here we are... an exclusive (as in not on Youtube or anywhere else) preview of 'Apocalypse Now'. AN has kind of changed. I originally intended it to be a mostly no wall combo video but there is only a certain about of combos you can do without walls, wall breaks and floor breaks.

I have decided to include all the above in the final product and I'm pretty happy with the result. I'm of course kinda of annoyed it can't be direct captured BUT you sometimes just need to go with what you got.

So here it is.

Not Forgotten...

Just a quick post to let people know that I'll be doing some big things in the next couple weeks.

First off, Helping Hand will be back.... I'm sorry I've been slacking off a bit but eh life gets in the way.

Second is the continuation of Xbox Live Sessions... my next video is particularly funny and will link directly with Helping Hand.

Finally, the title of this blog is also the title of a short combo video to help promote 'Apocalypse Now'... it'll be worth the wait because I got some new stuff to blow y'all away.

Sorry to everyone that's been following this blog and looking for updates. "Helping Hand" videos have kinda been put on the back burner as many projects have been.

I aim to put out something later this week through so hopefully it'll go up.

On a related note, since I am not writing 'blog' blogs anymore, I will say it here.

Helping Hand: AK's Tekken Tag Upper

Helping Hand is back!

This one didn't take me too long to put together. I can perform AK's TT upper on cue now mainly cause he is one of my mains. Funny story is, it used to be really hard for me to do until I found out you need to follow the 'chi' flow.

Only thing that was holding me back before was my computer was down and I got caught up in other stuff as well.

Video Updates...

According to my side-bar I have a couple combo videos planned. With my computer up and running again and because my Xbox Gold membership expired (sad face) I will be concentrating and getting out some new content.

Here is an update on all of my projects.

Lucky 777: tons of combos, tons of good stuff... however general lack of interest from our recorders and recorders not getting the footage to me (so I can edit it) has made this project D.O.A. It's a shame cause some of the combos were awesome and in all honesty I going to steal some of my original combos for my forthcoming vid. Better then just letting them sit in the vault.

Other Ways 2 Die: re-watching 'Another Way 2 Die' has given me renewed interest in this video. Two combos will be used in 'Apocalypse Now' ('AN') so I will get it out there before someone else does it and steals the credit but I really hope to get this done because like the 777, it has some really good stuff I want to show.

Death Becomes You: Dead. I have killed this video/ concept (no pun intended). Rage Death Combos are cool but I'll be the first to admit that some of my combos abused unblockable interupts and people don't like that. I'll be re-using some of the ideas in 'AN' tho so they all won't go to waste.

Helping Hand: I have been slacking off, I promise by next week AK's 'blue upper' tutorial will be up. It has been well recieved especially from people on my Xbox Live friends list so I guess I can keep it up.

Apocalypse Now: Hands down the project I am focusing most on. I hate taping off my tv and prefer direct capture BUT I so tired of waiting for direct capturing people to help me so I am helping myself. Also I am bringing in a special guest to help me out since it's a multi character combo video and he has done nothing but impress me so I know it'll be awesome to get his name out there in the community.

Apocalypse Now: Concept

So it's been a minute. My computer was down (refer to my other blog to here my bish about that).

I have just uploaded 'Apocalypse Now' on YT mainly because it's not going to get music claimed (least I hope) and it's already got some views.

'Apocalypse Now' concept came entirely from me watching a video of Guc11 (a fellow Tekken combo maker) showing everyone how to access the glitchy version of 'Anger of the Earth'. I was in awe of the special backdrop and all the crazy glitches, plus we now have access to a new no wall stage (I am so sick of Manji Valley). I'm not the biggest no wall combo fan BUT this was something I couldn't resist.

So 'Apocalypse Now' came to be, no wall juggles, glitchy juggles, high damage wall juggles and tons of stuff I hope hasn't been done before.

Also I promise this blog will have some stuff different then my YT account so I will be uploading some exclusive content from the forthcoming video.

Tekken 6: Lee Just Frame Silver Cyclone Tutorial

Well, I think I am now doing well with my deadlines. LOL I should be a newspaper reporter, which funny story, in another life I wanted to be.

So Lee's Just Frame Silver Cyclone is a something that no-one on UTube has a tutorial for so I am happy to present this. Ironically, this move used to be really hard for me till I found out the secret. Once I figured it out, this move is cake and I was able to film most of the footage for this video first time. No need for edits this time. The final combo took me a bit however.

Well next up, due to UTube demand is AK's 'Tekken Tag' Upper aka 'Blue' Upper.

Got to love consistancy. Another week, another 'Helping Hand' video as promised.

So it looks like vids so far are being received pretty well, with my JFSR tutorial views going through the roof. Guess I shall keep this up for a bit.

Helping Hand: Armor King's Flame Breath

Well here it is. Now I have completed my Rage Death Combo uploads (combo video still to come) I am moving onto my brand new project.

Helping Hand is going to be a series dedicated to helping my fellow gamers out with harder to do moves.

Helping Hand (HH) will be utilizing on screen command input, slow motion and visual cues to help you perform moves like Just Frame Sky Rocket, Armor King's TTT upper (or as I affectionately call it 'Blue Upper'), Lee's Mist Trap throw and more.

So buckle up, it's going to be fun. Also this series is actually going to be dual broadcasted on YouTube so pray for me, noobs and haters galore on that site.

-you have to be position perfectly or the f+4,4,3 won't wall splat
-after wall breaks, f and b can be reversed sometimes causing alot of issues as well.

Notes: -this requires an unblockable interupt
-this combo without rage does 140 dmg, the magic number for death combos, however if Kuma doesn't charge up it doesn't kill. I think the throw at the end throws (no pun intended) the damage out of whack.
-the wall throw must be 1+3, if you do f+1+3, it'll whiff.
-I typo'ed at the beginning. Look how much damage charged block damage does to a person with 1% life.

Updates

Well peeps, the Rage Death Combo series is drawing to an end. I have completed 18 Rage Death Combos and have upload 14 of them on YT via private share.

The final combo by Raven will be uploaded tomorrow. The remaining 5 Rage Death Combos will not be seen until the release of the 'Death Becomes You' combo video which hopefully won't take me too long to put together and edit.

Don't worry tho, I'll definately keep y'all busy with my brand new series 'Helping Hand' tutorial vids which will come out pretty much right after my last Rage combo goes up.

Oh and without giving too much away, here are the characters I refuse to find Rage combos for and reasons why

-Eddy/ Christie... I hate Capos (lol)
-Bryan... too many on YT already, if I do one, it would be a frame by frame copy of one already uploaded.
-Steve... see Bryan

-Nina... can't do 'flapping wings' too save my life
-Kuma/Panda... not a fan of either of them

-Baek... tried, too much work

So yep, you won't be seeing those guys/gals in my combo vid.

However I will say I wasn't intending on finding one for Asuka but I did so things might change.

I really wanted Blogger to be the place to host my Death Combo series but it seems like I have hit a hitch.

Just letting everyone know, I'll keep this blog running with other insights till the new month and then I'll will upload the remaining Death Combos.

I will be saving 5 Death Combo for the "Death Becomes You" combo video tho, just so it's not going to be the same ol', same ol' but with fancy editing.

Also immediately after the final DC is uploaded, I'm going to start uploading my 'Helping Hand' series.

Well it seems Blogger has it's limits. I have never tried uploading video after video and for some strange reason it's refusing to upload my Marduk Rage Combo. Maybe I have hit my upload limit for this month or something?

I am going to try to do it again (a very rare (for me) weekend upload) and see what happens.

Worse case scenario, I'll wait for the new month and upload the rest then.

Restrictions: Jack 6 only

Notes:-this combo relies on a unblockable interupt. If you interupt Jack's Dark Greeting (f+4~1) right near the end it adds tons of damage.
- positioning is very important for this combo, bad positioning and the ss+3 B! will miss or f,f+3,4,3 will not cause a high wall slump.

Heihaichi Raged Death Combo

Since I got tons of Death Combos, I have decided to do a double feature today. First is Heihaichi.

Character: Heihaichi
Stage: Temple Grounds
Restrictions: none (see 'notes' tho)
Transcript: (d+3+4)2,ss up,df+1,1,d+1 B! dash f,n,d,df+4,4,1 wall ss+2,1 wall break! f,n,d,df+1

Notes -this is the minor charge version of d+3+4, maximum charge does alot more damage (60 vs 84)
- you need to wait at least a second before you do f,n,d,df+1 to get the full ground hit. Doing it straight away will do less damage.
-d+3+4,2 does a extra 6 dmg against people related to Hei, this means on Jin, Kaz and Lee the first hit does 66 not 60 dmg. This doesn't affect himself or Lars even through Lars is his son.
-you can subsitute the final f,n,d,df+1 for an Omen Thunder God Fist (f,n,df+1) however timing is real strict and the damage is minimal at most.

Just touching base before we go into the next round of Death Combos (a.k.a DC)

You might noticed in my side bar that I have now found a name for the previously announced combo vid. I am running with "Death Becomes You" a Zafina quote (what can I say, I love me some Zaffy). I have found 13 of the 20 combos (7 are already uploaded) I think I might not upload the last 5, mainly because I want to save them for the actual vid.

Speaking of projects, another project I will be working on is the 'Helping Hand' project. I had this in mind since DR and basically it's a visual tutorial to help people pull off some of the harder moves in Tekken. Expect a tutorial for Just Frame Sky Rocket, Omen Thunder Godfist, Lee's Mist Trap throw and more. I will include detailed descriptions and visual cues to look for and I will also be taking advantage of T6's 'command history' feature. I think I will release the first part in this on-going series in this week so keep an eye out for it.

Restrictions: Probably wouldn't work on girls, everyone else is okay.
Transcript: CH uf n 4,f+2,2,1,f+2,2,1 wall uf+1+2 fb! df+2,1 wall iSW

Notes - this combo relies on a un-blockable interupt (i.e get an opp to do an un-blockable and you hit them just before it comes out) The interupt adds the needed damage because as a normal combo it takes the opp down to 2-3 dmg left... I know lame.

Zafina Raged Death Combo

I was going to save this for 'Other Ways 2 Die', my forthcoming remake of my 2nd combo video (think of it as Another Way 2 Die 2.5) but since it is a death combo I decided to share it early.

Character: Zafina
Stage: Fallen Colony
Restrictions: Probably won't work on Ling or Wang but everyone else is fair game.
Transcript: CH b+2+3,f+2,3,b,f+2,3(SCR) 3+4 floor break df+1,4 wall f+2,3 (SCR) 4 Probably one of my favorite ones so far and no I am not bias.

Notes- yep unblockable starter but the stun is unbreakable.
- I muted the audio because of random sound effects going on in the b/ground.

Feng Death Combo (Concept)

Wanted: Decent Jack player to perform hcf,df+2 on me so I can reverse it.

Character: Feng
Stage: Anger of the Earth
Restrictions: only works on bigs.
Transcript: (timed reversal) ws+1+2,f+2,1,2 wall db+2,2,2 B! f+3,4 wall f+3,4

Notes- This is a concept video because I haven't been able to do it in Versus mode because I need someone to do hcf,df+2 with Jack so I can reverse it. I am accepting volunteers.

Hopefully I will be able to re-film this before the combo video... oops did I let that slip? Yep, I am planning a combo video, hopefully using direct capture for all my death combos.

Wang Raged Death Combo

My Wang is still strong (lol)

Stage: Urban Warzone (Yah! No Anger of the Earth lol)
Restrictions: Works on most sizes, probably not on girls. With medium sized people, dash and do the df+1,1 as fast as possible.
Transcript: db+1,df+2,1,f,f+2,f+1,f,f+2,b+2,1,1+2 wall df+1,1 B! f+4,1+2,1+2

Notes: db+1 is a breakable stun, other Rage combo makers are using breakable stuns through so I guess it is not taboo
-db+1 must hit on Non CH, hence why Marduk is ducking. db+1 on CH gives a unbreakable but harder to juggle stun.
-Alternate wall combo enders are db+2,4,1 and b+2,1,1+2... all variations can kill.

Notes: have to be one character forward after position reset.
- only f+3 connects on wall f+3,1 will make rest of combo whiff.

Miguel Raged Death Combo

Welcome to an ongoing series on Apocryphic Videos. Sorry I have been quiet lately but I have been working on some other projects.

The Raged death combo series is pretty straight forward. A combo that kills an opponent when in Rage. First off is Miguel.

Character: Miguel
Stage: Anger of the Earth
Transcript: CH SAV charge 1+2, uf+1 B! df+4,1,F (SAV) f+1,2,1 wall b+2,2, FB! df+4,1 wall df+4,1,1

Does 134 dmg without Rage.

Variations:
-after FloorBreak! you can wall carry with df+2,1
-if first hit is a CH, you can FB! with b+3 instead of b+2,2
-works on medium sized character if you dash before b+2,2... not required if you use b+3 to FB! tho.

Another Way 2 Die: Remade

So I have been working on making Another Way 2 Die as good as possible. The original project was nice but I feel like the director's cut is going to take it to the next level.

I promise some combos are going to be completely rehauled and redone, I am going to intergrate the She-Wolf video into the combo video as well for a nice added touch. On top of that, it will even have some brand new combos.

What it won't have is the same combo enders or combos that can ONLY be done on big characters. I want this combo video to be practical as well as cool.

I am aiming for the stars.

Lucky Me (Leo Quote)

So other then the Zafina combo video which I have been working on, I have also been working on the 'Lucky 7' video as well. As a collective, F' Yeah has been able to find tons of combos in Tekken 6 where 7 hits does 77 damage. It's like how we found tons of combos in Tekken 5 and DR where 6 hits did 66 damage. We planned a sequel after the original video and it's now coming to fruition.

One of the cool things about this new video is how the whole OH/ N. Ky scene has contributed. So far we have combos from me, Sluch, Enter the Gecko, The Real KT, Daddy Neptune, Skeez, Arkayne, Soul Bushido, Lord CoCoichi and Noize from Columbus. Arkayne is using his considerable artistic talents to draw logos for each one of us and pictures of the Tekken cast.We have found 777 combo for pretty much the whole cast and right near the end, I have been finding 777 combos that involve cast member's item moves for that extra oomph.

My greatest hope is that it will finished and published by the time the final Arcade Legend T6 ranbat in Feburary but lol we know how often my plans get pushed back (Another Way 2 Die was surposed to be released last year).

Hopefully we will get lucky (no pun intended) and everyone will be able to see the first F' Yeah collaboration of '10.

Wow, I am surprised. This video actually uploaded pretty easily and is only blocked in Germany (sorry Germany!).

I am planning on making a more longer directors' cut which will use footage from the actual She-Wolf video and some extra combos but for now, this is it. Enjoy!

Sooner Then You Think

Well peeps, the wait is almost over. I have been putting the finishing touches on my 2nd combo video for Zafina and I must admit it is looking hella good.

The music matches perfectly (well at least in my eyes lol), combos are sweet and many never seen before. I am now mainly working on the editing and trying to make it look a bit more crazy.

All in all, it's going to be very nice and I can't wait to share it with everyone.
